English Learner Advisory Committee- ELAC An English Learner Advisory Committee is established at a school site when there are 21 or more English Learner students enrolled at a school site. This committee serves in an advisory capacity relative to services for English Language Learners. 1. ELAC advises the principal and staff on the development of a school plan for English Learners. This information is included in the School Site Plan and is submitted to the District Board. 2. ELAC reviews and comments on the school’s needs assessment as it relates to instructional services and resources available to English Learners. 3. ELAC reviews and discusses the process to identify all students, the identification and reclassification process of English Learners. 4. ELAC discusses and shares ideas on how to support regular school attendance.
