Covid Guidelines 24-25 school year

most recent COVID-19 guidelines for students and staff updated by LACDPH:

Testing is required immediately when ill with COVID-like symptoms.

Testing positive:

Students and staff must stay home if symptomatic or feverish. They can return to work/school when:

·       They have not had a fever for 24 hours without taking fever-reducing medication AND

·       Symptoms are mild and improving

Staff and students with COVID-19 who do not have symptoms can come to school as long as they wear a high-quality mask around others, for 10 days after first testing positive.

People with a COVID-19 infection must wear a mask around others for 10 days from symptom onset or positive test date regardless of whether they have symptoms. Masks can be removed sooner if they have two negative tests at least 24 hours apart (staff can now do so as well).

It’s recommended to test before returning and to continue staying home if positive until day 10, but not required.

Close contacts:

Close contacts should be informed of possible exposure, so they can take appropriate next steps to protect themselves and others. Monitor for symptoms and wear a well-fitting mask around others for 10 days after last exposure. It is recommended that close contacts test for COVID-19 three to five days after their last day of exposure. If symptoms develop, stay home away from others and test immediately.

CCUSD provides COVID tests for students and staff to take home. They are available for pickup in your school's front office/health office. Please report any positive cases to your school so we can accurately monitor for any outbreaks and report to the Health Department as needed.
